The City of Diamondhead is expanding:
During the second phase of annexation, the City proposes to annex an area in Sections 27 and 28, Township 3 South, Range 18 West, Hot Spring County, Arkansas (see map below).
This proposal would expand the City’s boundaries to include the identified area and include the remaining parts of Hot Spring County. Voters will consider the proposed annexation in the November 2026 election on November 3rd, 2026, and the annexation will move forward only if approved by a majority of those voting on the question. Votes from Hot Spring and Garland County are needed.
In summary, the November 3rd, 2026 election will determine whether this defined area is added to the City limits to include ALL of Diamondhead into one City - the City of Diamondhead.
In March 2026, the City of Diamondhead annexed a portion of Section 28 in Township 3 South, Range 18 West, which is currently in Hot Spring County (see map below).
The city was incorporated on March 1, 2024, and has fulfilled all requirements set by the Arkansas Department of Transformation and Shared Services as per A.C.A § 14-40-101 on May 22, 2025.
The proposed annexation was decided by a vote of residents from both the Diamondhead Garland County side and the affected area in Hot Spring County during the March 3, 2026, election.
The annexation was approved with the following certified results:
